We are excited to invite you to our first Mental Health SIG Case Café of the year!

When: Thursday, October 16, 2026

Time: 6:30 – 8:00 PM EST Where:

Virtual (Zoom link will be sent to registered participants)

Facilitated by Evan Choquette, MS, OTR/L (RIOTA's Mental Health SIG Coordinator)

This is a relaxed, supportive space for occupational therapy practitioners to share de-identified mental health cases, brainstorm strategies, and learn from one another. Whether you work in community mental health, inpatient, schools, or any other setting, your voice and experiences are welcome.

Come ready to listen, share (only what you’re comfortable with), and connect with colleagues who “get it”, for valuable conversation and connections.

Feel free to bring a case you’d like input on, or simply come to listen and support. Looking forward to seeing many of you there!

Event Objectives:

By the end of the Case Café, participants will be able to:

1. Analyze de-identified mental health cases through an occupational therapy lens, identifying occupational performance barriers and strengths.
2. Discuss evidence-informed and occupation-based strategies that support clients with complex mental health needs.
3. Share practical resources, tips, and peer insights that can be applied immediately in clinical practice
4. Strengthen professional connections and reduce isolation among occupational therapy practitioners working to support mental health settings across Rhode Island
