With the support of the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services Healthcare Workforce Transformation Project, CCRI is offering a free Mental Health First Aid class on June 4 and 6, 2024.
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Class starts promptly at 5pm and participants will be required to attend both days to receive Mental Health First Aid certification.
This special invitation is for RIOTA members, and this is a great opportunity to connect with CCRI OTA students! Seats will also be made available to the public and space is limited, so please register ASAP.
