Dear Members,

Welcome to our new site. It will, hopefully, turn out to be a better way for all of us to connect to one another and the occupational therapy community across the state and the country.

My term is coming to an end and I appreciate the opportunity that I have had to serve you and our profession again. I would encourage all of you to volunteer for a position with the state organization or AOTA, NBCOT or any of our organizations. It gives a different perspective on what is happening behind the scenes to protect our profession, enhance our profession, and grow our profession.

We are in the 100th year of the incorporation of occupational therapy. There have been many celebrations across the nation to commemorate this huge event. We are planning a celebration of our own, here in Rhode Island. You are invited to the 100th birthday party for occupational therapy in September 2017. We will have more details in the upcoming months but we are planning a gathering at Goddard park to celebrate our profession and those in the state of Rhode Island who have been instrumental in driving us forward. Stay tuned for details. We would love to see you and your family there.

Please let me, and the other board members, know if there is any way we can serve you better, educate, or advocate. We welcome all suggestions, criticisms, and praise to help make the Rhode Island Occupational Therapy Association the best it can be.

I look forward to seeing you in September and beyond.

Until Next Time,

Karen Albright Morgenstein, COTA/L, President
